How to Create High-Performance Business Leaders and Professional Athletes

My undying passion for high-performance and leadership led me to explore a deeper understanding of what it takes to be the best performer and leader, as well as how to create high-performing culture or teams. By observing the behavior of high-performing individuals, both in business and professional sports, I found a first-hand connection and common traits between high-performing individuals in life, regardless of what game they played – individual or group professional sports or business and leadership. Over the last 15 years, I watched closely the behaviors that were reflected in high-performing individuals who took their business or personal performance goals yet to another level, showing others that impossible is indeed possible. Observing and interviewing various pro-athletes, in addition to high-performing business leaders, led me to arrive at the following conclusions: Know Your WHY It is critical to know your why that motivates you and gets you out of bed […]

How EQ and IQ Can Make a Difference in Your Leadership Performance

Often we think that if we train and prepare before the big event or meeting, we will perform well. By coming to the table with the Exceptional Player attitude, with high skills and competencies, that small difference between high performer and exceptional performer will depend so much on you and how you see and process things emotionally and intellectually. The exchange of ideas around the path to success in business (and life) was amazing. I especially found the Keynote address by Connie Matsui to be both thoughtful and inspiring. The theme of this year conference was conscious leading for global change through the emergence of our collective realities. It was an inspirational and transformational event, to say the least. The best part? I had an opportunity to network with some of the most influential thought leaders in the world. Here is what I have learned: 1. Be Courageous – Be your own champion, until others start to champion your success! It often takes a time to deliver a significant impact in an organization. Accordingly, it is imperative to stay courageous until you can prove what you are […]

Power of Commitment: Creating Your Perfect Life NOW

After holiday celebrations and spending a lot of time with friends and family, many of us are gearing up to a new start in the brand new year. Some of us are with new inspirations, expectations, and excitement while others are just simply dreading to come back to the office, dealing with so many personal and professional obstacles. As a result, it is so much harder to move forward in life. I am amused to see or hear how many people are desiring or dreaming about the life they would love to have. They are taking little actions to bring them closer to their perfect life. Life by design, not by default. Life of personal and professional growth, balance, freedom, and joy. But how far we are ready to go will be quickly determined by how much are we committed versus interested in any parts of our professional or personal […]
