How to Create High-Performance Business Leaders and Professional Athletes

My undying passion for high-performance and leadership led me to explore a deeper understanding of what it takes to be the best performer and leader, as well as how to create high-performing culture or teams. By observing the behavior of high-performing individuals, both in business and professional sports, I found a first-hand connection and common traits between high-performing individuals in life, regardless of what game they played – individual or group professional sports or business and leadership. Over the last 15 years, I watched closely the behaviors that were reflected in high-performing individuals who took their business or personal performance goals yet to another level, showing others that impossible is indeed possible. Observing and interviewing various pro-athletes, in addition to high-performing business leaders, led me to arrive at the following conclusions: Know Your WHY It is critical to know your why that motivates you and gets you out of bed […]

5 The Most Desired Executive and Leadership Traits TODAY

Growing up as a little girl in former Yugoslavia, I was exposed to Mother Teresa’s work and her foundation through charitable giving to underprivileged children in Africa and then India. I was mesmerized by the stories of the children’s lives and the level of poverty in their villages, yet could not shake the sense of joy, love, and happiness that radiated from the photos they sent me every year as a thank you for my little donation during holidays. These experiences and Mother Teresa’s Servant Leadership taught me one of the most profound lessons, as well as leadership traits, that changed my life early on and influenced my personal and career path. 3 Ways to Become a Pro: Leadership Weapon Insights

We live in a glocal era, where local, global, and virtual environments have merged. The glocal trends have effectively expanded into new, highly demanding leadership traits. We can’t look at day-to-day operations or project or team management through the old lens. Evidence of gloacal leadership is in everything we do and touch personally and professionally through our in person or virtual interactions.  For some people, networking can be exciting, fun, and exhilarating or it can equally produce feelings of dread, fear, and discomfort, especially speed networking or job interviewing. The choice is ours depending how we see the glocal impact on leadership and then act. Demands for speed are not surprising beyond speed networking (to connect and make things happen fast) and, as a result, we need to know how to drive desirable results faster, furiously, and financially rewarding. Are we connecting and engaging actively with people we are exposed […]

Grit & Grace: Practice And Passion Are What It Takes to Master Leadership TODAY

Arriving into the office in a new Italian suit and silk tie and designer shoes may look simple and easy. New day, everything as usual or maybe not. In the sea of the executives, he or she blends in unnoticed or he or she just may stand out. Not because of his or her size in physical form or highly projected ego in his or her posture or voice, but the way he or she moves across the big lobby to the final destination, a conference room. He/she smiles, genuinely, he/she nods his/her head and he/she wishes good morning to everyone he/she encounters from the moment he/she parked his/her car in the big secure garage, rode in the elevator, and upon entry to the building. Today, on his/her mind is so many thoughts and point of views, especially the word view and his/her diverse trusted advisors’ perspectives. Grace is the […]

Power of Commitment: Creating Your Perfect Life NOW

After holiday celebrations and spending a lot of time with friends and family, many of us are gearing up to a new start in the brand new year. Some of us are with new inspirations, expectations, and excitement while others are just simply dreading to come back to the office, dealing with so many personal and professional obstacles. As a result, it is so much harder to move forward in life. I am amused to see or hear how many people are desiring or dreaming about the life they would love to have. They are taking little actions to bring them closer to their perfect life. Life by design, not by default. Life of personal and professional growth, balance, freedom, and joy. But how far we are ready to go will be quickly determined by how much are we committed versus interested in any parts of our professional or personal […]
