To many people the concept and value of an effective mastermind group may possibly be rather new and undiscovered territory. A mastermind group provides the opportunity for group participants to tap into the potential wealth of knowledge and intelligence of others, especially when seeking solutions to complex issues and challenges. The best part, if you are a leader facing a dilemma or uncertainty, you can quickly tap into other leaders for guidance and advice, while learning and working together to find the best solution to the problem.

The excellent news; when the mastermind groups are set up correctly, they can produce tremendous growth and value to you and your business. I had an opportunity to be part of a high impact leader mastermind group just yesterday, allowing me not only to ask some of my burning questions but also to work together with others in finding solutions to very complex issues for them.

 

Reflecting further, I noticed that I had to stretch my own way of thinking and gain more of a “master mind” in order to fully leverage and utilize the value and solutions provided by the group members. The best part, I had to “Think Bigger” than ever before, which is truly an amazing feeling.

1. Investing in Yourself – Life-Long Learning is a Must, Not an Option is my new slogan that I am sure many of you can relate too since nothing stays the same unless you don’t change. In that case, you are dealing with the potential high risk of becoming irrelevant, inefficient and dramatically performing on a lower scale than your own true capabilities.

2. Progressing From Success to Significance – Be the Person of Tremendous Value to everyone in your life through the knowledge and expertise you offer. If you lead with value then you are not only on the fast track to accelerate, enhance and dramatically increase your own success in life, but also in the lives of so many other people. By being part of a leadership mastermind group, you get exposed to tremendous collaboration with other leaders and are consistently creating your own breakthrough opportunities, in addition to developing your critical thinking and strategic decision making.

3. Sharpening Your Leadership Skill Set – Or better yet, “Sharpening your saw” as one of the most important skills in Stephen Covey’s book “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. This is an excellent way to challenge your own thinking process and gain new perspectives while continuing to learn.

4. Refusing to Fail – People Around You Will Not Allow You to Fail as this environment can create an amazing feeling just knowing how much other leaders are invested in your success and YOU! It is important to not underestimate the power of teamwork and the fact that behind every successful person is a team of exceptional supporters and cheerleaders that make positive changes possible. The best part is that you can share and celebrate your joy and successes with other leaders by reminding everyone why we are all in the mastermind group in the first place.

At the end of the day, I am measuring my own success by the positive impact that I have on people in both their personal and professional lives. By actively contributing to and leveraging the leadership mastermind group, we are all winners in the end!
